The presentation of the project
Since its inception, the Grande Odyssée has always attached great importance to animal health.
In parallel to the race, a working group of veterinarians and students formed to conduct a scientific reflection on the sled dog and its health and well-being.
The objectives of this group are to carry out on La Grande Odyssée, a scientific analysis of the data collected on dogs in order to ensure a more effective veterinary follow-up of these high level dog athletes, to improve the knowledge around the sled dog to make the practice evolve in this field and finally to return these results to the mushers.
