Rémy Coste wins the 17th edition of La Grande Odyssée Savoie Mont Blanc!
A new page of the history of La Grande Odyssée Savoie Mont Blanc has been written. Rémy Coste (FR) who already won the 2016, 2018, 2019 and 2020 editions, is once again the leader in the category OPEN. Therefore, he becomes the first five-time winner since the creation of this international competition.

This year, the teams have covered a total of 318 kilometres with 10,300 of elevation gain in beautiful snow and weather conditions. A huge family was present at each stage: handlers, vets, volunteers from the territories crossed, ski resort staff, local councillors and members of the organisation.

In an unprecedented sanitary context, this 17th edition was marked by the COVID-19, with departure and arrival sites closed to the public, but largely counterbalanced by the large presence of media who covered the event on a daily basis, which made it possible to broadcast beautiful images of the territory, mountains, resorts and mushing to more than 30 million French people.
Annabel Lascar-Kam, President of La Grande Odyssée Savoie Mont Blanc spoke about it: “A few months ago, nobody believed that we would be here today to close the 17th edition of La Grande Odyssée Savoie Mont Blanc. We had moments of doubt in the organisation, but we trusted it, we didn’t give up, and we did it! Thanks to the work of the staff and volunteers, the KCIOP team, in close cooperation with the services of the slopes and ski lifts, the local authorities, the Tourism Offices and the prefectures of Haute Savoie and Savoie, as well as all the partners, we have succeeded in this beautiful 17th edition which marks the history of La Grande Odyssée Savoie Mont Blanc.”
Despite these different conditions, the sporting achievements has been done this year. In the category OPEN, Sylvia Ulrich (DE), who followed Rémy Coste (FR) the whole race, is on the 2nd place of the podium. On the 3rd step, this is Jean Combazard ( FR).

In the category LIMITED, is Cindy Duport (FR) who takes the lead. Christian Perlwitz (FR) is 2nd and Marion Joly (FR) 3rd. Today, the Trophee Aésio of the 17th edition ended. Iker Ozkoidi (SP) took the first place on the podium. See you in January 2021 for the 18th edition of La Grande Odyssée Savoie Mont Blanc !
