Stage 4 – 15/01/2020 : Megève
The competition La Grande Odyssée Savoie Mont Blanc had a stage today in Megève. Because of the warm weather the decision has been taken to shorten the distance in order to preserve the dogs from the heat. For this 4th day, they could enjoy a run of 13km with low difference in height. The spectators could admire a real sprint among the sled dog teams. It was also the opportunity for the mushers to select only the minimum number of dogs requested by the general rules of the race in order to let the others rest. As a matter of fact, the stage of tomorrow in Pralognan-la-Vanoise will be one of the most challenging.
In the OPEN category, Heinrich Winter (GER) was the faster today. Nevertheless, he remains third of the global ranking. Remy Coste (FRA) is still 1st and Iker Ozkoidi (SPA) 2nd. A 4th athlete gets slowly closer to this trio. It is Aurélie Delattre (FRA) who arrived today 4 minutes and 12 seconds after the winner and 3rd of the stage at Les Gets.
In the LIMITED category, Sylvia Ulrich (GER) finished the stage in 40 minutes and 31 seconds. She leads the race since the beginning.
