Robert Sorlie will race the Femundlopet 2010 !

Share
After he got wounded during the first stage of La Grande Odyssée Savoie Mont Blanc, his participation to the first main long distance race in Norway was not sure at all.

The official annoucement has been made onRobert Sorlie's website. He will race! It seems that his recovery has been faster than expected. If he enters the race it's because he has a strong belief that he can win it again. Benoît Gérard did a hell of a race and brought healthy, happy and strong dogs to the finish line. That's a great news for Robert, maybe not for the other contenders?

This race is along with the Finnmarkslopet,  one of the 2 greatest long-distance races in Norway and in Europe. Many mushers from La Grande Odyssée Savoie Mont Blanc will also enter the race. Daniele Rao, Arnt Ola Skjerve, Daniel Juillaguet, Jean-Philippe Pontier, Petter Karlsson, Per-Olav Gausereide will leave Roros for the long Femundlopet: 600 kilometers. Jack-Gérard Gaspard, Salva Luque, Radek Havrda and Erik Martinez will enter the "short" Femund: 400 kilometers. Philippe Travadon, Isabelle's husband, will also be at the starting line of the Femund 400.

La Grande Odyssée Savoie Mont Blanc wish a great race up there in Norway to all the mushers and the dogs. With the extraordinary "preparation" they got in the Alps, I wouldn't be surprised to see them do well.

The Femund 600 starts on february the 4th at noon and the Femund 400 leaves Roros one day later at the same time.

To follow the race : FEMUNDLOPET

We'll give you on that blog all the results and some comments during the race.
