Per Olav Gausereide arrived on th finish line of the 9th stage with his sled folded and strapped. When he saw a double triangle sign, warning of a danger, he tried to stop by anhoring his sled. But the sled hit a stone and the sled stopped violently. Per Olav was thrown on his sled which broke instantly. Per Olav kept on going and joined the finish line. A great example of tenacity !
Marc Tercier, from Switzerland, winner of the Trophée Haute Maurienne, realised the gap between him and the best LGO teams. He was thrilled to get caught by Emil Inauen and enjoyed to follow him a little bit on the trail. Marc was really happy with his dogs. Most of them are coming from a breeding of two of his dogs that are coming from the kennel of... Emil Inauen.
Miquel Angel Martinez had a great fear on the trail today. As he was suddenly breaking, his gang line broke in front of the wheel dogs. And the 6 other dogs started to run away. Happily, the dogs got soon tangled, he caught them, repaired the line and joined the finish line safely with no injury at all.

Roland lives in Fribourg, he started professional mushing in 2004. He mainly ran mid-distance races and ran the European Championship in 2009. This is his third run in a row of the Trophée Haute Maurienne.

Along with his wife Elisabeth Edland, Per Olav runs a successful kennel. Since 1992 Per Olav participates in Norwegian competitions and since 1998 in international competitions. This year will be his first participation in La Grande Odyssée Savoie Mont Blanc.

Biography :
A former steep skier and climber, Emil has fallen in love with sleddogs during a trip in Canada. Originally coming from Switzerland, he has moved his kennel to Norway in 2009 to improve his level. Emil is also the builder of the sleds of the world famous BEWE brand. Emil hold the record of most stages won on La Grande OdysséeSavoie Mont Blanc and is the reigning champion.

Marc has learned a lot on La Grande Odyssée Savoie Mont Blanc by being a handler for Pierre-Antoine Héritier. Marc owns alaskan huskies, partly coming from Emil Inauen's kennel. His dream is to race LGO. He won the Trophée Haute Maurienne Vanoise in 2010. He will race the two Trophées this year to prepare a future participation to La Grande Odyssée Savoie Mont Blanc.
