At the start of the 8th stage in Bramans, Petter Karlsson said that nothing would change today and that he wanted to save the energy of his dogs for the last day.

But by looking at him working behind the dogs, it was obvious that the 2008 champion had decided to make some time on the Czech today. Leaving 2 minutes behind Havrda, his idea was for sure to come back on the Czech on that morning stage and to get 2 minutes back. Moreover, he was the only one from the top 4 to take 9 dogs on that stage. The others took only 8.

He fulfilled his goal as he is winning the 8th stage and beat Havrda by 2 minutes and 18 secondes. He now needs to make only  2 minutes and 54 seconds to get the 2nd place. There could be a change in the owner of the 2nd.

Per Olav Gausereide has shrinked his gap on Daniele Rao and now have only 22 secondes to make to take the 8th place from the italian.
