The Femundlopet is settup in two races. The first is 600 km long and open to teams of 12 dogs. Jean-Philippe Pontier will start the race for the third time. His best result is 21st in 2010. He knows the race very well as he now lives close to Tolga, one of the checkpoint of the race. Following his impresive run in LGO, he is looking forward to a top 20 place and maybe better in this very competitive race where Norwegians are the best.

We'll also follow the Team Blau Fontein in the shorter Femund. Isabelle Travadon is a veteran of the Femundlopet 600, but this will be the first Femund for her usual handler on LGO, Sandrine Muffat Meridol, a Trophee Haute Maurienne veteran. Another well-known handler will run his first race: Olivier Perroy will drive the B team of Jean-Philippe Pontier. Jaco-Alex Ulmann will also be startin the 400.

Biography :
Isabelle is for sure the most famous french female musher. She's breeding working siberian huskies for a lot of years. Many other teams in France have dogs coming from her kennel. She's back to LGO with ambition in 2012.
