On Tuesday, January 10, 2012 in Praz de Lys Sommand in preamble to the official stage of La Grande Odyssée Savoie Mont-Blanc, for the first time, the race will be entirely devoted to children.

The French School of Mushing will supervise 20 students of the Jacques Brel High School from Taninges, previously selected. Young mushers will run with teams of three dogs in the beginning (5 km) of the same track as the one used two hours later by the champions of La Grande Odyssée Savoie Mont Blanc.

The Children's Odyssey is part of a learning process carried out long before the race. In the fall, various actions of mountain discovery (sport jobs and activities), writing, artistic creations will be set up with the children of Jacques Brel Taninges high school and primary schools in the station.
