An adventurous leisure

Men then relied on the experience of those expeditions to organize races.

From this moment onwards, races multiply in the United States and in Canada.
They reach Scandinavia in the mid 20th century, only a little differently: the « pulka ». In this discipline, one or two dogs pull a sort of snow sled while the man follows the dog team on cross-country skies.
Switzerland and Austria set up their first race in 1960 and France in 1979 on the pass of La Schlucht (Alsace). During the 90’s, even the Land of Fire (South of Argentina) and South Africa (in Lesotho) start organizing races.
