Nick Evans first started running sled dogs in 1984 at the age of 15 years old, for a lady who owned two Siberian Huskies called Dobchek and Bambi. After a couple of years learning the basics, Nick went on to run his first two Greenland dogs (Eskimo dogs) called Maud and Bruno.
After several years of running in the UK, the dogs retired at the ripe old age of eleven, and eventually their eventful lives came to an end. This of course was heartbreaking, and Nick then decided to focus on his career and said that he would never again go through the pain of losing your "best friends".

Biography :
Born and raised in Minnesota, I was exposed to mushing as a small child with my parent's recreational team of Alaskan Malamutes. I've always loved the north country.
As a youngster I always dreamed of moving north and having my own team of sled dogs. I made a promise to myself that someday I would run the Iditarod. I moved to Alaska in 1993 to volunteer for the Iditarod and wound up working for famous racers such as Susan Butcher and Jeff King. Today we own about 80 dogs. I saw my dream come true in 1999, finishing my first Iditarod in 26th place.

Biography :
Since 2005 and his first LGO, his siberians and himself have ran numerous other great races in Scandinavia and Northern America. Last year, he finished the Yukon Quest. Pierre-Antoine is the only musher running with siberians who has finished La Grande Odyssée Savoie Mont Blanc, the Femundlopet 600, the Finnmarkslopet 1000 and the Yukon Quest with the same dogs.

Biography :
As a child growing up in the midwest I was always a dog lover. I constantly brought home stray dogs. As a teenager we took a family vacation to Alaska where I saw my first sled dog team in action at Denali Park. I was fascinated. The day after graduating from college in 1994 I headed to Alaska to follow my dream and have lived here ever since. In 1998 I finished the Yukon Quest and finished the Iditarod in 2001, becoming one of only a handful of women to ever finish both races. I am now more focused on my career as organizational director of ACEP, the Alaska Center for Energy and Power and raising my twins Leif and Marais.

Tim has been a race veterinarian at the Iditarod and other races. His mushing experience made him travel a lot through the US. He has already run LGO three times. He is also an Iditarod veteran.

Biography :
A former steep skier and climber, Emil has fallen in love with sleddogs during a trip in Canada. Originally coming from Switzerland, he has moved his kennel to Norway in 2009 to improve his level. Emil is also the builder of the sleds of the world famous BEWE brand. Emil hold the record of most stages won on La Grande OdysséeSavoie Mont Blanc and is the reigning champion.

Biography :
Instead of teaching elementary students, Tasha now teaches sled dogs! Ed finally talked Tasha into racing about 5 years ago. She has since completed La Grande Odyssée in France, and has won Marquette's UP 200. Tasha now takes care of all our "business" and spends most of her time training the young dogs, running with the puppies, and making sure the sled dog world keeps turning!
